Fellowship

Sunday

John 14:1-6 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.”

5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?”

6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.

Jesus went to prepare a place for us! Jesus went form the cross to the grave to hell then to heaven. He made the way of salvation available. He took us with Him! He made a place for us at the right hand of God. We now have access through Jesus to the Father. There’s no greater miracle outside of salvation. Salvation made that possible! We have access to Almighty God no matter the time or day. We only have to learn how to access that place.

Proverbs 7:1-5 My son, keep my words,
And treasure my commands within you.
2 Keep my commands and live,
And my law as the apple of your eye.
3 Bind them on your fingers;
Write them on the tablet of your heart.
4 Say to wisdom, “You are my sister,”
And call understanding your nearest kin,
5 That they may keep you from the immoral woman,
From the seductress who flatters with her words.

Wisdom is a person. We see the emerging of two different women.  The immoral or strange woman, and the virtuous woman representing wisdom. They are opposites. It represents two kingdoms or systems. It can be compared to death and life. They are both after you. They want your affection, mind, body, your very life.

Proberbs 7:6-15 For at the window of my house
I looked through my lattice,
7 And saw among the simple,
I perceived among the youths,
A young man devoid of understanding,
8 Passing along the street near her corner;
And he took the path to her house
9 In the twilight, in the evening,
In the black and dark night.

10 And there a woman met him,
With the attire of a harlot, and a crafty heart.
11 She was loud and rebellious,
Her feet would not stay at home.
12 At times she was outside, at times in the open square,
Lurking at every corner.
13 So she caught him and kissed him;
With an impudent face she said to him:
14 “I have peace offerings with me;
Today I have paid my vows.
15 So I came out to meet you,
Diligently to seek your face,
And I have found you.

The strange woman (world system) is coming out of her home to find you. Constantly pursuing you. She lays in wait to pounce on you at any moment. The woman of wisdom is the opposite. You must pursue her! Every morning when you wake up, these two women are available. And you must choose which one you will partake in that day. The strange woman will appeal to your weaknesses. She will go after every unsanctified part of your life.

There is a place of exchange available to us. It a place available regardless of what is going on in your life to exchange your weaknesses for His strengths. You can go daily to lay down your inabilities and pick up His strength. Its available to every born-again child of God. Regardless of what you are going through, you don’t have to let your heart be troubled.  He does not promise to do away with trials and troubles, but He does promise that His grace is sufficient.  He will give you everything you need to walk right through it. The reason people don’t go to this place of exchange to get what they need is because they are self-sufficient. In all reality it is pride. When you worship God, it increases the capacity for His love to come in greater measures. When that starts happening, it fills empty place in your life that you aren’t aware of.

1 John 1:1-4 That which was from the beginning, which we have heard, which we have seen with our eyes, which we have looked upon, and our hands have handled, concerning the Word of life— 2 the life was manifested, and we have seen, and bear witness, and declare to you that eternal life which was with the Father and was manifested to us— 3 that which we have seen and heard we declare to you, that you also may have fellowship with us; and truly our fellowship is with the Father and with His Son Jesus Christ. 4 And these things we write to you that your joy may be full.

Joy comes through fellowship. There is a difference between a relationship and fellowship. You can have a relationship and not spend time together. The very essence of fellowship is spending time together. God is offering a partnership and wants you to be a partaker of the benefits, but it will not happen outside of fellowship. You can have a solo audience with God Himself at any time you want! You have to adapt the attitude that you cannot face a single day without that fellowship with God. Jesus Himself had that attitude; how much more do we need it!
