Intercession part 2

Wednesday

Luke 13:1-9  There were present at that season some who told Him about the Galileans whose blood Pilate had mingled with their sacrifices. 2 And Jesus answered and said to them, “Do you suppose that these Galileans were worse sinners than all other Galileans, because they suffered such things? 3 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.4 Or those eighteen on whom the tower in Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they were worse sinners than all other men who dwelt in Jerusalem? 5 I tell you, no; but unless you repent you will all likewise perish.”

6 He also spoke this parable: “A certain man had a fig tree planted in his vineyard, and he came seeking fruit on it and found none. 7 Then he said to the keeper of his vineyard, ‘Look, for three years I have come seeking fruit on this fig tree and find none. Cut it down; why does it use up the ground?’ 8 But he answered and said to him, ‘Sir, let it alone this year also, until I dig around it and fertilize it. 9 And if it bears fruit, well. But if not, after that you can cut it down.’ ”

Why isn’t there intercession today?  It hasn’t been taught and kept before the people. It hasn’t been modeled. Prayer used to be taken a lot more seriously. In present times we have so many amenities and it has made us soft.  People used to have to depend on God for their everyday needs. People today are selfish. We live in a day where we have so many responsibilities and so many things to do. We are wrapped up in our own lives and don’t realize the needs of others around us.  Intercession is born from compassion.  Compassion is born out of an increase in  God’s love.   Compassion is a fruit of divine love! When your love for God starts increasing, you know that your love for people is increasing too. Don’t allow yourself to become a person that loves yourself more than anybody or anything! Get before God and let His love come into your life! The Holy Spirit can hook up with compassion. If you pray through that, the need WILL be met.  All christians are called to pray for people. People have problems and needs!

Romans 8:25-26 But if we hope for what we do not see, we eagerly wait for it with perseverance.26 Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered.

Helps – He takes hold together with us against! He does not do our praying FOR us; He HELPS us pray.

Ephesians 3:14-17  For this reason I bow my knees to the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, 15 from whom the whole family in heaven and earth is named, 16 that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with might through His Spirit in the inner man, 17 that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love,

If we could get to the place in life that the love of God is the most important thing, we would be on the right track. If you can get this prioritized, it would cover everything. When you are rooted and grounded in God’s love, forgiveness is easy! “Let me show you a better way.” It is better to forgive! Always!  When you understand how loved and forgiven you are, it is easy to do that for others! Aren’t you glad God is not critical of you? We need a revelation of how much God loves us! If you knew how much God loves you, you would never fear another thing. God’s love surpasses human knowledge. It cannot be learned from a book or taught! It can only be revealed. Stay in the love of God and let it permeate your being. Let it change you! You will notice a difference; it only takes your time and dedication! He helps us in our natural limitations and only HE can produce those results! Whatever you need, there is more than enough.
