Wednesday
Psalm 40:1-4 I waited patiently for the Lord;
And He inclined to me,
And heard my cry.
2 He also brought me up out of a horrible pit,
Out of the miry clay,
And set my feet upon a rock,
And established my steps.
3 He has put a new song in my mouth—
Praise to our God;
Many will see it and fear,
And will trust in the Lord.
4 Blessed is that man who makes the Lord his trust,
And does not respect the proud, nor such as turn aside to lies.
WAIT. Not an exciting word. Our world today is in such a hurry. The most valuable commodity in your life is time. It’s the one thing you cannot get back. Everything else can be replaced. We have to remove hurry out of our lives. We have to wait on God. This is a foreign concept to most people. One day we will all stand before God and He will compare our lives to what His plan for us was. Are you following your plan? Or are you following God’s plan? You can go through your whole life doing good things. But, if you didn’t do His plan, it was all in vain. You will never know the plan of God for your life aside from waiting in His presence until He reveals it to you. It’s not the preacher’s responsibility to tell you God’s plan for your life. It’s not the Prophets job. It is your responsibility to get in the presence of God and let Him feed you. It doesn’t happen in five minutes. You have to wait on Him! You can get things from preaching and teaching, but you will get the majority from being in His presence. When you do that, you are drawing life from an unseen source. It’s like a tree, you see the above ground trunk and branches, but that is not what keeps it alive! It’s what is underground that no one sees that gives it life.
Wait – delay until a person’s arrival
John 14:1-9 “Let not your heart be troubled; you believe in God, believe also in Me. 2 In My Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. 3 And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also. 4 And where I go you know, and the way you know.” 5 Thomas said to Him, “Lord, we do not know where You are going, and how can we know the way?” 6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. 7 “If you had known Me, you would have known My Father also; and from now on you know Him and have seen Him.” 8 Philip said to Him, “Lord, show us the Father, and it is sufficient for us.” 9 Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
In verse 8, Jesus explains, I have been with you all this time, and you still don’t know? He knew He was going away. He knew He was on His way to the cross. Up until this time, they received from God through Him. They received teaching, instruction, council, etc. But He knew that if He didn’t go, the Holy Ghost wouldn’t come. It was more to their advantage for the next stage to commence. Jesus could only be in one place at one time. The Holy Ghost is everywhere. The Holy Ghost was sent to glorify Jesus, not replace. He came to bring us Jesus’ lordship, mind, and will in every situation in life.
John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever—
Since the day you were filled, The Holy Spirit has lived inside of you. “I have been with you all this time, and you still don’t know?” I wonder what the problem is. It’s not Him! It’s His ministry! He’s been sent here to reveal the mind, will, plan, and direction of God for your life as an individual. He has been sent to bring you the lordship of Jesus. If you don’t learn to wait in His presence, you will continue on in your life still wondering what you’re here for. There is no excuse for us not to know His plan. Because He came to live in us for that very purpose.
Exodus 20:18-21 Now all the people witnessed the thunderings, the lightning flashes, the sound of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking; and when the people saw it, they trembled and stood afar off. 19 Then they said to Moses, “You speak with us, and we will hear; but let not God speak with us, lest we die.”
20 And Moses said to the people, “Do not fear; for God has come to test you, and that His fear may be before you, so that you may not sin.” 21 So the people stood afar off, but Moses drew near the thick darkness where God was.
Moses goes up directly to God. The people stood afar off. Your flesh has to be set in its place and God has to be given the correct place. If you worship God, His presence will come. Moses drew near! When you pray in the Holy Spirit, your spirit is speaking directly to His Spirit. Your mind can’t get in on it. Your Spirit is drawing nigh to God, but your mind and body are afar off. Your soul knows, if it draws nigh to His Presence, it will die. When you worship you make your soul obey. You are putting it in its place. That’s why the fears and anxieties will leave your life. A desire will rise up within you. You don’t want to sin because you have fallen so in love with God that you don’t want to disappoint Him! Our lives are dominated by our mind and feelings so much more than we realize! It is an enemy of God! Your carnal mind is capable of convincing you that what your feeling is God’s plan, when in reality it is your plan. There is no excuse to not know God’s plan! The only reason you don’t is because you have not taken the time to wait in His presence. When you get that settled in you, it will get the responsibility where it belongs, on you. If you’ll start to do it consistently, you don’t have to wait for so long! You have to start training and disciplining your flesh and soul. You will never get to the point in life where you do not have to be conscious of this matter. You have Adam to thank for that.
The Holy Ghost was in Heaven before the foundations of the world. Your name came up and God formed a perfect plan for your life. Where you would live, who you would marry, how many children you will have, the color of your hair, every single detail. The Holy Spirit was there hearing as God the father was planning it all. And now, He lives inside of you just waiting for you. What you don’t know, He wants to teach you. He wants to help you overcome any issue. All we must do is lend Him our authority. Any time you are praying in the Holy Spirit you are lending Him your authority to pray the will of God for your life. It’s amazing! It is the best prayer you can pray. Start where you are and increase your time! Every time you go beyond what your normally do, you go to a higher place. Become consistent every day! The longer you pray the stronger your spirit becomes to overpower your soul and flesh. Don’t go through your life without utilizing the teacher living inside you!
